Modular Building Case Study: AC Hotel

In 2015, Marriott started a search for the modular industry’s top manufacturers and selected Guerdon Modular Buildings. In June of 2016, Guerdon contacted Quiltcraft to manufacture the draperies for each Guestroom window in the 81 modules that make up the 142 rooms of Oklahoma’s 1st modular hotel, AC Hotel Bricktown. Each room has a unique layout and the windows throughout the modules are designed differently. As opposed to providing measurements for each window, Guerdon gave our estimating team six different room types, with specific widths, and the quantities of each of those types. Sheers, blackouts and hardware were shipped to their facility and labeled appropriately with the type of room for the hotel to install once each module is lifted into place atop a steel base that is the hotel’s main floor.

NEAT

Pre-built modular rooms, fully furnished were assembled and put atop a one-story steel base that is the hotel’s main floor.

DIFFERENT

All rooms and finishes were exactly to AC Hotel specifications upon delivery, indistinguishable from any other of the Marriott brand hotels.

“Quiltcraft was instrumental at the beginning, and was instrumental throughout. Everything arrived on time, prior to the hotel needing the product onsite.”
