What Is The Correct Window Sill Depth For My Inside Mounted Roller Shades?

When choosing an inside mount roller shade for your window, it’s important to specify the windowsill depth. To properly install an inside mount, there needs to be space for all the components to fit inside the window frame. With incorrect measurements, the brackets will not fit inside the allotted space. Consequently, the fascia will not be flush with the wall when inside mounted.

Think of Look and Style

Depending on your wants and needs, we offer a variety of bracket sizes such as 3”-4” (for single shades), and 5” (for dual shades). Confirm with either the contractor or general manager before specifying inside mount shades to ensure intent will align onsite.

See our blog post about bracket specifications.

If the larger dual bracket isn’t  accommodated by your window opening, we can revert to two single shades, one inside mounted and one outside mounted. It will affect the design of the window, but it will be a viable solution! You can read more about inside mount vs. outside mount here.
